Self Care is not selfish. Self Care is Professional Development. It actually benefits staff and the quality of the campus to invest in staff well-being. There is a high rate of return on investments in moving more and healthier nutrition. We must devote time in professional development for staff wellness both mental and physical. You are nurturers but don’t sacrifice yourselves. Your personal wellness is very important for you and for the students you serve. In addition, students need champions who model and mentor healthy behaviors every day!
These sessions are focused on highlighting the significance of enhancing the well-being of dedicated, hardworking staff.
We will look at wellness through two lenses. Both are important for us to consider.
One lens sees personal wellness. The health decisions that you intentionally make. Your intentional choice of a personal lifestyle. Personal wellness relies on personal responsibility, moderation, and health-enhancing behaviors.
The other lens sees staff wellness. Expectations in the work-place that reflect a program’s policy or culture. All programs should strive to have staff wellness efforts in place that inform and support staff in serving as role models for families and students, as well supporting voluntary behavior changes to enhance personal wellness. Research reminds us that staff report that they are stressed, maybe even depressed, and they think often about their weight and associated health issues. This is a very important issue for all educators. Partner with CRC to rejuvenate your staff by booking a session today.
